All about the trip
We will start this tour driving through the beautiful UNESCO site Þingvellir National Park. On our way to Laugarvatn Fontana, you will have the option to choose if you would like to pay on the spot or not for either the local style dinner buffet or soup and bread. This is the perfect activity for couples looking for a romantic evening!
Fontana has three steam rooms built over a natural hot spring and a traditional sauna along with three different hot pools. Those more adventurous, can take a dip in Laugarvatn lake (when available) and cool down between the steam baths and sauna.
The steam temperatures range between 40°C and 50°C, depending on the temperature of the hot springs and the weather. The steam rooms create a unique experience since you can smell the hot water boiling underneath the grids on the floor.
The three connected outdoor mineral baths vary in depth, size, and temperature. It is a perfect place to relax. From the hot tub, you can see a panoramic view of the countryside around Fontana and the Northern Lights if you are lucky and they will show up early.
If you get hungry, you can try two types of wonderful soups on location and other snacks that guests can purchase on the spot.
Sóley Organics shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are available for all in the changing rooms.
En route back to Reykjavík, we will go on a Northern Lights hunt, but please, take note, since they‘re a natural phenomenon, sightings are not guaranteed.
Join us for a lovely evening!
