All about the trip

Bike tour takes you along the famous Greenways bike trail from Konopiste castle to Prague. We will bike through the beautiful Czech countryside with stops at Velke Popovice where you can try the local beer from one of the original breweries and have a Czech lunch at a local restaurant.

The bike trip begins from the Praha Bike office in the center of Prague. We choose our bikes according to your heights and take a train with bikes to Konopiště Castle, originally founded as a Gothic fortress that was inspired by French fortresses with a symmetrical layout of the towers, several entrances and drawbridges. Gradually it has been converted into a romantic chateau. Your guide will show you around the courtyard and castle exterior and tell you all about the history of the castle as well as the important and famous owner of Konopiste Castle who was the archduke Frantisek (Franz) Ferdinand d'Este. A successor to the Austro-Hungarian throne whose assassination in Sarajevo in 1914 became a pretext of World War I.After admiring the castle you get on bike and follow the Greenway bike trail. You’ll enjoy approximately a 3 hour bike ride with elevation from 250 to 450 m and arrive to Velke Popovice stopping at the original brewery Kozel and a relaxing lunch break with local Czech food. After you get on the bike and head to Pruhonice Castle than back to center of Prague along Vltava river.

We do not cover the castle interior as the tour is focused on the bike ride and exploring interesting places along the way. After admiring the castle we get back on our bikes and follow the greenways bike trail back to Prague stopping at the original brewery and a relaxing lunch break with local Czech food. Our trip ends approximately at 6 PM.
