All about the trip
The guide will pick you up from your centrally located Antalya hotels around 7 am. The guide will brief you about the tour on the way. We will reach Pamukkale after three hours of driving. Located in Denizli province, this natural wonder consists of terraces and travertine formed by hot springs and streams depositing carbonate minerals. Pamukkale is famous for its waters, which are believed to have healing powers and have been used as a thermal bath for centuries. Noted for its extraordinary characteristics, the ancient site was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1988.
Located near Pamukkale, Hierapolis was founded in 200 BC by Eumenes II in dedication to the Amazon queen Hiera, wife of Telephos, the founder of Pergamum. Moreover, Hierapolis is an ancient city that attracts worldwide attention for its majestic buildings and monuments.
The ancient city of Hierapolis lost its Hellenistic facade as a result of a series of earthquakes and gained a new facade reflecting the influences of Roman architecture during the reconstruction period. Among the great cities of the Byzantine period, Pamukkale became a crucial site for Christianity after one of the apostles of Jesus; St. Philip was murdered in this city. The city, which fell under the rule of the Turks in the 9th century, still retains its value and importance as on the very first day. Welcoming thousands of visitors every year for its ancient monuments and natural wonders, Pamukkale is waiting to welcome you as well! We depart for Antalya around 17:00 and bring you back to your hotel around 20:30.
