All about the trip
This Dubai desert tour will give you a taste of the Bedouin lifestyle from a bygone era! The tour will begin with our safari captain picking you up from your hotel in a 4X4 drive Land Cruiser. From there you will be driven to the Lahbab Desert, during the hour drive your guide will tell you the history of Dubai before arriving at the dune-bashing destination. Once you've arrived at the desert there will be a 20-minute break to prepare for the activity. During this time the captain will check the vehicle and go over safety procedures with you and your group. Dune bashing is when the captain will take you to the peak of the dune, and let the Land Cruise fall gently down, giving you a feeling of being suspended in time.
If vehicles aren't for you, you can try your hand at surfing the dunes by sandboarding! Sandboarding is truly a product of Emirati ingenuity, the soft sand combined with the smooth surface of the board ensures that you will fly down the dunes. As you surf the dunes, the captain will take pictures of you to capture your awesome moments! After about 45 minutes of dune bashing, the captain will take you to the Al Khayma desert camp. In the desert, you will have the opportunity to try a multitude of activities such as camel riding at sunset, trying on traditional Arab attire, snack on sweet dates, receive a henna tattoo, and have your photos taken with the breathtaking sunset behind you! We recommend trying the 15-minute camel trek, caravan style across the dunes!
As the evening continues, the dancing entertainment will begin! The traditional Tanoura dancers will dazzle you with their colorful costumes and hypnotic twirling. As you watch the performance you can dine on a delicious buffet filled with BBQ meats. After the Tanoura dancing, the Ladies Khaliji Dance will begin! During this time you can enjoy your delicious desserts and watch the mesmerizing women perform their ancient dance. At the end of the evening, the lights will be turned down low, creating a sultry ambience. This is the perfect time for stargazing in the tranquillity of the desert. Relax by yourself or with loved ones as you think about the incredible day you've had at the camp. When you're rested, you will be taken back to your hotel in the city, leaving the endless desert behind you.
