All about the trip

This tour combines snorkeling with caving and gives you the ultra experience of Icelandic nature. You will explore the hidden world of the lava fields in the Blue Mountain area and visit the UNESCO World Heritage site and snorkel the freshwater fissure Silfra, one of the best diving site in the world.

Silfra is a freshwater fissure about 60-63 meters in the deepest point, and you can almost see to end of it as the water is so clear. In fact, the water is so pristine it feels like you are flying. No diving experience is needed as you will snorkel at the surface of the canyon. We provide all the gear that you need and offer snorkeling in a wetsuit or a drysuit, depending on your preference. We however recommend the wetsuit as you will feel more free and be able to dive as well. You don't need a diving license for this activity.

The cave we will visit is called Leiðarendi. This 900 meter long lava tube offers unique rock formations, such as stalactites and shelves. Some light crawling may be required but Leiðarendi cave has rather easy access to the underworld wonders of the Icelandic lava fields.

What is not included in the price

Clothes suited to dress under a drysuit such as long and warm underwear or sweat suit, and warm socks

Please make sure that you are comfortable in the water and are able to swim. You should be at least a bit physically fit. Also, you should not have a problem with wearing sometimes tight & constricting dry suit.
Make sure that you have read, signed, and followed directions on the Silfra Snorkeling Medical Statement and also signed our liability release form at the start of the tour.
You must be at minimum 145 cm (4’9) tall and maximum 200cm (6’7) tall. Your weight should be at minimum 45 kg (99 lbs) and maximum 120 kg (264 lbs). This activity is not suitable for pregnant women. You must be at least 14 years old to participate in this activity.

What to take with you?

We will provide you with all the necessary gear required for snorkeling and caving. You will, however, have to bring clothes suited to dress under a drysuit such as long, warm underwear or sweat suit, and warm socks or clothes suited to dress under a wetsuit such as swimsuit. Also, please bring warm clothes to wear prior and after the snorkeling and a water resistant outer layer as it can be wet inside the cave. You will also need a towel, some lunch or snack. We recommend to bring a camera.

Your drop off address will be the same as your pick up address.

Cancellation Policy - Benevolent

Cancellation more than 4 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 48 to 96 hours prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to the starting date. No refunds.
