Discover the two most popular UNESCO sites in Bulgaria. The most admired monastery, also known as the Rila Monastery, is hidden deep in the heart of the magnificent Rila Mountains. This magnificent historical gem has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. When visiting the monastery, you will feel the sacred peace and noble atmosphere. In the middle of the courtyard, there is the Holy Virgin Mary's Monastery Church, where you can admire the unique colorful frescoes. On the very outskirts of Sofia, there is the second important historical monument, the medieval Orthodox church of Boyana. This 10th-century church is decorated with rare original frescoes. Therefore, the visit to the church is limited to 10 minutes but definitely worth it!

This activity is not suitable for wheelchair. Mandatory dress code is long trousers/skirts (at least knee-long), no sleeveless tops (possibly bring a scarf to cover your shoulders).
