All about the trip

Discover the beauty of the river Elbe with a paddle in your hand. You can choose from several routes between Ústí nad Labem, Děčín to the German town of Bad Schandau. The river is quiet without any weirs and therefore suitable for beginners.

Right behind Děčín begins the Bohemian Switzerland National Park with the deepest sandstone canyon in Europe. During the tour, you will enjoy views of rock walls and towers of various shapes and shores full of herons. You will paddle across the border to Bad Schandau, Germany, a spa town with a typical Saxon folk architecture and a café atmosphere.

At the end of all offered routes, we will take the boats from you and you will return by yourself back to the starting point. You can use the easy public train or bus service to return.

For 2-people trips, we provide you with a 2-seat canoe and for 3-people trips, we provide a 3-seat canoe.

Itinerary

Your experience starts at Camp Děčín, where we will hand you in a canoe, paddles, and a dry bag. A short briefing will take place on-site. The longest trip from our offer, with 22 km of a pleasant pace in 4.5 hours. When leaving Děčín, you will be amazed by the looks of the Shepherd's Wall with the Via Ferrata and with Děčín chateau on the other side, which rises above the river. The river will take you through a majestic sandstone canyon through the national parks of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland to the spa town of Bad Schandau in neighboring Germany. It is up to you whether you choose to visit the center of the spa town with many restaurants and nice cafes or choose a direct route back to Děčín from the nearby train station.
