All about the trip

With our Coasteering tours, you can explore the beautiful volcanic coastline of the island of São Miguel and some of its various bays and caves, using various methods, among which are exciting jumps from remarkable cliffs, some moments of controlled climbing, dives, and a refreshing swim directly in the ocean.

Most of our excursions take place in Caloura, which is located in the central-south part of the island of São Miguel. However, if weather conditions on the south coast are not the most favorable, the tour will take place in Ribeirinha, which is in the central-northern part of the island.

At our meeting point, we will proceed with the distribution of your personal safety equipment and a quick safety briefing. Once we are set up, we are ready to start our seaside adventure where we will be exploring a few caves, scramble on the rocky volcanic terrain, dive into the ocean and play in natural pools and inland bays where its also possible to enjoy our underwater wildlife with some snorkeling.

The ability to swim or feel comfortable in the water is required.

Instructions

Please consider the pick up time as 15 minutes prior and after the departure time of your excursion.

What to take with you?

Please bring swimwear (if possible already dressed), towel, comfortable clothes, sunblock, your personal water bottle, and if possible some shorts to use over the wetsuits.

Where do we meet and where will the trip end?

Meeting place:

If you choose paid pick-up option: The Pick-up time is usually between 08:50 and 09:10 AM at, or close to, your place of accommodation. Consider this for the areas of Ponta Delgada, Capelas, Caloura, Lagoa and Ribeira Grande (for other locations, please contact us).
When the activity is over, we will drop you off at your place of accommodation again. The payment will be made on spot to the driver.
If you don’t require a Pick-up, consider the Meeting Point to be at Porto de Pescas da Caloura, around 09:30 AM.

Final destination:

Same as the meeting.

Cancellation Policy - Benevolent

Cancellation more than 4 days prior to the starting date. Clients are automatically refunded the full booking price.
Cancellation within 48 to 96 hours prior to the starting date. Clients are entitled to a 50% refund of the booking price.
Cancellation less than 48 hours prior to the starting date. No refunds.
