All about the trip
Start your amazing day at 8:00 from our Bangkok office. The transfer to Damnoen Saduak floating market, in a fully equipped air-conditioned car or minivan, takes about 1-1,5 hours.
At Damnoen Saduak, start with a long-tail boat ride through a maze of canals cutting through local villages and plantations, and see how the locals live here. What's more, you will also visit a coconut plantation where palm and coconut sugar is made in a traditional Thai way.
After the floating market, get back to your bicycle and paddle along the quiet country roads, plantation trails, and unpaved flat roads. Depending on the season, you’ll see grapes, lychee, pomelo, and coconuts growing on the trees and different plants ready to be harvested. Besides the spectacular nature along the Mae Klong River delta, you can look forward to some beautiful temples and their fascinating stories.
Visit the magical temple of Wat Bang Kung from the Ayutthaya period (more than 500 years old) and its famous chapel enclosed in the roots of a banyan tree, called Bot Prok Po.
Don't miss Wat Bang Kae Noi temple built in 1868 housing the wooden carvings depicting Buddha's life. The place is being guarded by 3 life-sized wax statues of famous Thai monks.
Continue to bike across small wooden bridges over the river canals and catch a ferry back to the Amphawa market. Here you will have an opportunity to stroll the market's alleys and also visit King Rama II Park before driving back to Bangkok city.
