All about the trip
Join us for a guided walking tour through the incredible fortress city of Alahambra!
Alahambra is a palace and fortress complex located in Granada, Andalusia. It was originally constructed as a small fortress in AD 889 on the remains of Roman fortifications, and then largely ignored until its ruins were renovated and rebuilt in the mid-13th century by the Nasrid emir Mohammed ben Al-Ahmar of the Emirate of Granada, who built its current palace and walls.
Best known for its fascinating Moorish old quarter, the labyrinthine Albaicin, with its secluded inner gardens and 14th-century palace, the architecturally stunning fortress city of Alhambra is a must-visit for history lovers. Alahambra was actually Muslim city until it fell to the Christians in 1492, Granada sits at the feet of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The city has a reputation for wild nightlife, partially courtesy of boisterous University of Granada students. Your English-speaking tour guide will be happy to explain to you all the local history and folklore as you walk around.
