All about the trip
Join us for a guided walking tour through the incredible city of Córdoba!
This beautiful city in Andalusia, southern Spain, is the capital of the province of Córdoba. It is the largest city in the province, 3rd largest in Andalusia, after Sevilla and Málaga, and the 12th largest in Spain. Originally it was a Roman settlement, taken over by the Visigoths, followed by the Muslim conquests in the eighth century and later becoming an imperial city under the Caliphate of Córdoba.
These days, Córdoba is a mid-sized city with roughly 350,000 inhabitants. It is considered a great cultural reference point in Europe, and because of this, the city has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The historic quarter of Córdoba, in particular, is worth visiting as it is a beautiful network of small streets, alleys, squares and whitewashed courtyards arranged around the Mezquita. This architecture reflects the city's prominent place in the Islamic world during medieval times. There is plenty to see here and your English-speaking tour guide will be happy to explain to you all the local history and folklore as you walk around.
