All about the trip

Join us for a cruise down the incredible Cai river to enjoy the full beauty of the Nha Trang countryside. We will also make several stops along the way to experience traditional Vietnamese village life.

Our day begins around noon with you being picked-up from your hotel by our English-speaking tour guide in a private car. You will then be taken to the Cai river where we will board our boat for the day.

The first stop along the river is a charcoal stove making village where we will experience firsthand the everyday life of the hard-working locals.

After this we should be able to find some coconut dunes where we can get a fresh coconut or two. Cruising further along down the river we will then visit a Vietnamese bread-making village. The smell of the freshly-baked, home-made bread here will make you want to try some, and that is what we shall indeed do because it is absolutely delicious.

Next stop after the bread village is the mat weaving house. This home belongs to a family who weaves these mats from a reed which grows in abundance locally. Two family members working together can weave about four mats a day.

Our trip continues further along the Cai towards some ancient houses in the village. These structures are important for daily life in Vietnam as they often house the family's altar. Daily prayer to the family ancestors is an important part of Vietnamese life.

Also, don't forget to bring your camera, you will also need it for the epic sunset which we see on the river daily.

What to take with you?

We recommend that you wear sensible shoes and comfortable clothes. Sunscreen and a sunhat is certainly a good idea on hot days. You may wish to also bring a small camera and backpack for your personal possessions.
