All about the trip

Considered one of the most beautiful and romantic towns of all Greece, Nafplio is surrounded by wonders. This tour takes you to discover the fantastic nature, mesmerizing waters, and rich history of this unique Greek seaport municipality.

Your sea kayak adventure starts at 9:30, at Karathona, a lovely and calm beach in the south of Nafplio. Here, you meet your friendly guide who delivers a safety briefing and teaches you the basics of sea kayaking before you get in the water. With all the equipment prepared, it is time to have fun.

In the water, you paddle in and out through the crystal clear sea of the Argolic Gulf. The route follows the coastline, and you can see the beautiful scenery of this picturesque site. Your first stop in at Bourtzi castle set on an islet in the middle of the harbor of Nafplio. This elegant construction from the 15th century is one of the main landmarks of the town. As the centuries passed by, this site has been used in different ways.

In the beginning, it was a prison and then became the house to the Greek government twice. Between 1960 and 1970, the building was a luxury hotel and restaurant. Nowadays it hosts many cultural events, such as musical presentations and art exhibitions.

After that, you head towards Acronafplía, the Nafplio's oldest castle. The construction rises at the top of the old town, where, in the past, the whole city existed within its walls; and Arvanitia, a perfect small beach loved by locals and located under the famous Palamidi and Acronafplia castles.

Now, it is time for your lunch break. In the menu, you have local healthy products prepared to your delight. Once you finish your meal, you can relax to the max on the sand or go for a snorkeling session before you paddle back to Karathona beach. On your way back, you still have the last chance to observe the beautiful nature around the longest beach of Nafplio.

Although it is not common, the activity may be cancelled due to bad weather or adverse sea conditions. If it happens, we will let you know in advance to reschedule your tour. If you cannot attend on the next date available, the activity will be fully refunded.

Don’t forget to bring a hat, t-shirt or lycra, sea shoes or flip flops, and a towel.
