All about the trip

Explore the most fascinating and ever mystifying phenomenon of Egypt: its pyramids. Discover their different shapes, architecture and history from the Step Pyramid of Djoser in Saqqara to the beautiful Bent Pyramid in Dahshur and of course the famous Giza Pyramids.

In the morning we drive 30 km from Cairo to Saqqara where we visit the Imhotep Museum housing mummies, statues and artefacts from the large Saqqara necropolis.

We continue to the Step Pyramid of Djoser hiding a network of vestibuls, corridors and the king's burial chamber. Unas and Teti pyramids which are located in Saqqara as well are known for the pyramid texts found here for the first time.

Then, we drive to the royal necropolis of Dahshur to visit the Bent Pyramid with its unique shape. It was built by the pharaoh Sneferu and it is very well preserved.

We enjoy our lunch in a local restaurant and finally drive to the Giza Plateau. The Great Pyramid of Cheops is the most important, followed by the pyramid of Khafre and the pyramid of Menkaure.

We visit the Pyramid of Queen Hetepheres before concluding our tour at the Great Sphinx.
